Beastie Boys and Bigfoot

In 2008, Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch (who died May 4, 2012) and former THINKFilm executive David Fenkel founded Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film production and distribution company.

In 2009, Oscilloscope released Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie. The movie is not about Bigfoot, but is a documentary about the lives and friendship of two Bigfoot hunters from Portsmouth, Ohio. I composed and recorded much of the soundtrack, taught myself banjo specifically for the movie, and even got listed on IMDB! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2939813/

Here is the trailer…

If you have a Netflix subscription, you can watch it with Netflix Instant. http://www.netflix.com/movie/Not_Your_Typical_Bigfoot_Movie/70109676
Or watch it on Amazon Instant Video… http://www.amazon.com/Not-Your-Typical-Foot-Movie/dp/B002K052Y2/

This one isn’t a music classroom, but I’m including it because it’s impressive. This Hilliard K-1 class has a video podcast that contains student work, including an ongoing feature: “Author/Illustrator Awards Given by K/1 Readers”
